From “I’ll make this bike run better than new” to “That’s the best I can do for this bike”Either he lied to get my business or doesn’t know how to properly quote/inspect a bike. Brakes are worse after he replaced them.Save your money.
Response from the owner: Hi Jesse, thank you for your review. I worked on your bike 4 months ago. Why wait 4 months to post a review? You bought your bike used. It was in very rough shape. It needed everything. Your tires were shot, wiring harness was not in the frame, brake pads needed replacement. Your front brake needed to be replaced altogether as it was hydraulic and seeping fluid at the caliper. Your front brake rotor was also scorched which needed replacement. We did speak after I dropped your bike off and I told you that you would need additional parts to make your bike 100%. I offered to waive ALL labor to install more parts if you wanted to purchase the parts. Again, I would’ve installed them for FREE to make your bike right. You chose not to spend any more money on your used bike and you chose to decline my offer. You said, “I’m going to find another mechanic.” My offer still stands. I’ll be happy to pick your bike up for free and install a front brake and rotor also for free if you’d like to purchase the parts. Please reach out to me directly. I had a great experience with Brooks at Epic E-Bike when my fairly new but well used Rad Rover 6 fat tire suddenly stopped supplying power. Brooks came right out in his van and was very sure about the problem ( burned out controller). He reassured me about the Rad company and told me how to report the issue to them for warranty coverage. Bike was fixed and back to me on the weekend. Brooks even did some extra work at no charge. He is very knowledgeable about e-bikes and gets things done fast and for a reasonable price.
I found Brooke’s business with a simple Google search on who can repair an old Stromer ST2. His business came up and on a Sunday at 3pm he picked up the call and was very welcoming. Basically it’s a hand me down Stromer that is spitting out some errors despite buying a new battery. He spent almost 15 minutes on the phone with me giving free advice on what I can try to do to troubleshoot before having to throw the towel in to get the bike inspected and diagnosed in person. The interaction was great and Brooke seemed very knowledgeable and was able to identify the bike perfectly over the phone. Without a doubt businesses like this deserve praise and recognition in our San Diego small business economy. I can’t even bother thinking about other bike shops in San Diego and I will 100% consider doing business with Brooke because he genuinely cared to help me and his extensive knowledge with ebikes is high value alone.

Excellent service! I have tried out a lot of repair places, and this is definitely the best. I have a Bunch bike and we use our bike daily. This is the only guy that seems to know how to properly take care of Bunch bikes. Having a great ebike repair place is gold, and this is definitely that.

My RadRunner Plus e-bike pedal assist wouldn’t engage even though the battery was full. Brooks walked us through all the diagnostic steps and we were able to make the bike work perfectly. Epic was incredible . My stock brakes on my Addmotor ETrike were shot in less than a year. Brooks put on hydraulic brakes and tuned it all up. It’s a smoother ride and easy to stop. 1000% more safe and more fun to ride and run my dogs.
